The pole-lathe is one of the oldest one-man operated method of woodturning, dating back to the late Bronze Age.
Come along and watch Eoin Donnelly as he demonstrates the pole-lathe, turning green-wood timber into various useful items, using traditional tools, devices and skills.
Eoin has over 30 years experience of using the pole-lathe and working with green-wood and a vast knowledge of traditional timber crafts. Eoin is the Chairman of Muintir na Coille Co-op Society an organisation dedicated to traditional woodland management and the conservation of Irish native woodlands and the preservation of traditional woodland crafts and skills.
