We have also developed a special educational visit on the theme of ' Daily Life in the 10 th Century' for the duration of the boat building project which is in addition to the normal Park tour. Using our reconstructed Viking house which is based on the remains of Viking houses excavated at Bride Street in Wexford we will allow visiting groups to experience some of the crafts and chores of daily life in 10 th century Wexford. Children will learn about food and diet as well as crafts such as weaving, spinning, natural dyeing, shoemaking and woodworking in the atmospheric setting of the Viking house. Using our handling collection they will see examples of clothing and jewellery and learn how people bought and sold what they needed for each day.

Advanced booking is essential for the special 'Daily Life Tour'.
